Breakfast in English in class (B1B) Febrary, 17th March at 10,20

We are going to have breakfast in English. This is an activity which consist of having breakfast in the school canteen. Students play the roles of customers and waiter/waitress and serve and eat real breakfast. It is very easy to organize: most products are available at the school cafeteria (milk, toasts, jam, butter, hot chocolate, fruit, orange juice...) and those which are not are brought by some students (muffins, bums...). We'll display two tables together as a counter and they have to order something to drink and eat. No mistakes in English are allowed. In case they don't know how to ask for something, they won't get it. In order to control this I'll start playing the role of a waiter.
Previously, we are going to work in class the following points:
- vocabulary: cutlery (fork, mug, napkin, spoon, etc), food (muffin, a piece of toast, olive oil, etc)
- ordering: 1. Customers: "Can I have the menu, please?", "I'd like...., please", "Could I have.......?", "I think I'll have...", etc.
                 2. Waiter/waitress: "Can I help you?", "Are you ready to order?", "Would you like to see the menu?", "Anything to drink?", etc.
- expressing opinions: "That sounds good", "It is delicious", "It is tasty", "It is crunchy", etc.
- intonation in questions: 1. rising intonation in yes/no questions: Can I see the menu, please?, can I help you?, etc.
                                     2. falling intonation in open questions: What do you recommend?, "What would you like to drink?, etc.

I find this activity very motivating as students really enjoy what they are doing (they are having breakfast!!) and there is not one single students who doesn't like this. Therefore, they do their best to know how to order and how to play the waiter/waitress role paying special attention to how words are pronounced and how questions are uttered with the proper intonation.

We are doing it on Friday, February, 17th. After that, customers, waiters and waitresses, are invited to evaluate this activity. Please write a comment on it focusing on the following points:
a. Do you think you could order food in an English cafeteria after having done this activity?
b. Value how you have improved:
                  1. Vocabulary related to food and cutlery.
                  2. Vocabulary and structures to order food and drinks.
                  3. Vocabulary to express your opinion on food.
                  4. Intonation in questions.
                  5. Communication strategies to order food
                  6. Confidence in Speaking in English in general
c. Would you like to do this activity again? If so, say why.

[ºREC]

Another idea for the project.

If we do at the school, we could beat thoose french :)

Scary Movie, synopsis and trailer

SYNOPSIS:
A group of teenagers including Cindy Campbell and Bobby Prince, accidentally hit a man when driving, and dispose of the body, but now they are being stalked by a very recognisable masked killer. The victim count increases, whilst Cindy must survive the carnage that has she has seen in so many films before.

We think this is the best option, because It is a mixture of comedy and terror, and It is a very funny movie.

Trailer:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8yurKTKQr6E

[· REC]

This is the trailer and here the english version is called Quarantine.

Synopsis:
Every night, Angela, a young reporter for a local TV, records with her cameraman different people´s group. Tonight it's time of the firefighters.
But the night progresses extremely quiet. Until they received a call from an elderly woman who was enclosed in her house.
In the old building where she lives, the neighbors
are very scared. The woman, enclosed in her flat, screams very loud ...
Firefighters destroy the door and find the old woman like a zombie. Suddenly, she jumps on a police officer biting him.
It is only the beginning of a long nightmare and a dramatic TV report unique in the world: when firefighters pick up the injureds, they discovered that the only door of the building is blocked by the authorities. The building has been quarantined. It seems that a strange virus has appeared inside ...

These are projects of other schools that can help us :
- Rec 3

I think this is the best option because we can do it in the highschool, where there are a lot of infected childrens and the girl goes there for make a reporter.
Can be easy for us we only have to use a lot of kepchup =)

walking dead trailer synopsis and arguments

Well I´m the admin of the project Walking Dead and I bring you the trailer, synopsis and the argumentation about why we want to do it

here is the link for the trailer of the walking dead

SYPNOSIS
"The Walking Dead" tells the story of Rick Grimes, a common police Kentucky native American people, after an incident in the line of duty, awakens from his coma to find that the world has been destroyed and instead of people There is an incredible amount of corpses hanging around everywhere and eager for fresh meat.

Given this bleak scenario, Rick sets out to find his family. With the passage of time shows a more seasoned Rick and lacking sensibilerias to join a group of people (apparently the only survivors of this apocalypse modern) looking for a place to settle and be safe or at least able to cope zombie threat that stalks them.

Although in principle the cause of the appearance of the zombies is not revealed (it seems to be a military genetic experiment) these go in later issues to play a supporting role, giving rise to the human and personal development of the characters and different ways of dealing with this background of persecution, death and destruction they have caused the zombies.

And the arguments

º Is an amazing project and the best of the four projects
º the best show in this moment
º the posibilities of this project are infinite
º you can kill the teacher jesus(because he is a zombie) ^^

I hope you like this project and help us to make it.

Monologue Idea... is it possible?

My idea is to make a monologue in front of our classmates and the teacher corrects our grammar mistakes after our speech like the program "Communication show" of Aprende Ingles TV

Apart of this, I have received some information about the french people that they are going to make another video, will we make a video response to them or we'll let them to keep all the congratulations?
